Greetings, Creatures of the Night! Today, I want to tell you about my absolute favorite cemetery in Baltimore. Although, the Westminster Burial Grounds are a very close second.  Let’s take a look at the historic Greenmount Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, Greenmount Cemetery is a historic burial ground that has been in use since 1838. It is the final resting place of many notable figures in Baltimore’s history, including politicians, writers, and many other notable members of history.

Greenmount Cemetery’s gothic architecture , impressive gravestones & monuments, and eerily quiet grounds are a stark contrast to the city that surrounds it just outside its gates. The grounds here are a perfect spot for any lover of cemetery art looking to enjoy a quiet stroll. Being inside the cemetery is oddly peaceful being you’re smack in the middle of the hood. The cemetery’s winding paths and ornate gravestones create a somber atmosphere that is sure to appeal to your deepest contemplations.

The tomb has been placed in a glass enclosure to protect it from the elements and from people breaking off bits of the intricate details.
